BHIMTAL - The Island on the Lake

BHIMTAL :- (1371 Meters) About 22 kms from Nainital, nestled in a beautiful pristine valley, this jem of a lake is the largest around Nainital. The beauty is enhanced by a small Island surrounded by crystal blue water. One road from Bhimtal leaves for Naukuchiatal while the another one goes to Kathgodam 21 Kms from here. Bhimtal is one of the largest lake around Nainital named after Bhima of Mahabharata. It has a island in the center approached only by a boat and at present it has an Aquarium there.

NAKUCHIATAL - Nine - Cornered - Lake

NAKUCHIATAL :- (1218 MT) At a distance of just 24 km from Nainital and about 4 kms from BhimTal - lies the mystique lake with 9 corners or the ' Nine - Cornered - Lake '. Surrounded by dense forested hills on all sides it provides solace from the maddening rush of the plainsNaukuchiatal is nourished by an underwater spring, which keeps its water levels high. Naukuchiatal Lake is the deepest lake in the Lake District of India (Nainital) and lost in acres of oak forest in the lesser Himalayas.


Kainchi s a placed at an altitude of (1400 MT) On the Nainital - Almora Road, at a distance of 9 Km from Bhowali and 17 Kms from Nainital is a modern pilgrim centre. This place has achieved recognition owing to the ashram of the famous Shri Neem Karoli Baba Maharajji. Many hundreds of people visit the temples here every day, in season. Each year, during the June 15th Bhandara, reportedly, more than one lakh (100,000) people are fed. Founded by the famous Maharaj Neem Karoli Baba in 1962 and is very well maintained and kept neat and clean.
